Mary Badham

Scout Finch’s name will most likely incite nostalgia in most of us who have read the famous novel To Kill a Mockingbird. In the 1962 movie adaptation, Scout was played by Mary Badham, who was eventually nominated for an Academy as Best Supporting Actress. It’s worth noting that the actress had no prior exposure to acting before becoming one of the cast members. On the film’s set, Badham built a special relationship with actor Gregory Peck who takes the credit as Scout’s father, Atticus. Badham often called him Atticus until his unfortunate passing in 2003.

In the present, Badham works in the academy as a college testing coordinator and an art restorer. She’s married to Richard Wilt, and they have two children together.
