Imagine being so popular that they actually name an asteroid after you. Well, Tom Hanks doesn’t need to imagine it: there is now an asteroid called 12818 Tomhanks. With that said, Hanks got his earlier rise to fame for starring in comedy flicks, including A League of Their Own and Splash. Since then, he has also showcased more of his dramatic side, as seen in films such as The Green Mile, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, and News of the World. Plus, it’s no secret many of us also recognize him for voicing Toy Story’s Woody.
Since 1988, Hanks has been happily married to his wife, Rita Wilson. Along with the couple working together in 1993’s Sleepless in Seattle, Wilson is also known for starring in movies such as Runaway Bride, Jingle All the Way, and It’s Complicated. Plus, she’s also dabbled in working as a producer and singer, having released albums such as Halfway to Home, AM/FM, and Bigger Picture.
