Elizabeth Banks & Max Handelman

As producers of popular, high-profile movies like the Pitch Perfect series and the new Charlie’s Angels reboot, actress Elizabeth Banks and her husband, Max Handelman, are forging a degree in Hollywood. Their union appears very ordinary given how bizarre celebrity marriages may be. How did the two entertainment titans meet in the first place, you ask?

They first met during a fraternity party back in 1993 while undergraduates at the University of Pennsylvania. The celebration was almost over since the house had run out of beer. Handelman went out and saw Banks outdoors with his friend’s little sister. He urged his pal, “Let’s go talk to your sister.” Soon after, they began dating, but they didn’t rush into marriage. Handelman proposed “unexpectedly” after a decade of dating. They’ve been together for more than 26 years now and have established a great life together.
